We Are Blood, weareblood.org

Because of people like the Delta Development team, blood product storage equipment has come a long way. The APRU your team developed is a stellar piece of equipment. Our QA team performed a validation on it, and we were all so impressed. It maintains temperature better than many of our in-house blood bank refrigerators. It even maintained temperature for 12+ hours after we let the battery die! Other features we liked was that it was simple to use, the battery life is really long, and it has integrated temperature monitoring and alarming so that a separate temperature monitoring device is not needed. Use of the APRU in a pre-hospital setting is the perfect solution for ease of use on the EMS side and assurance of product safety for everyone. Kudos to all of you involved in developing this revolutionary piece of equipment.

Austin-Travis County EMS, Texas

The product you guys have developed, and continue to refine as we learn and partner with public blood banks answers the call. I believe in prehospital whole blood, I have experienced its benefit first hand. The APRU is going to be the gold standard in storage and deployment models for pre hospital programs, I have no doubt.

Multnomah County EMS, Oregon

I wanted to first thank you for allowing MCEMS the opportunity to review and “share” your APRU and Delta Ice cooler. We had some great meetings with our Blood Bank and local fire departments. Hands down, everyone saw the quality and durability of both pieces of equipment. Our fire agencies saw more value in the APRU and felt it would fit into their “workflow culture”. Moving forward, we will be working on allocating the funds to purchase the necessary equipment for the Whole Blood program in Multnomah County.

Lehigh Valley Health Network

We are the first in the U.S. to successfully launch the Delta Development Autonomous Portable Refrigeration Unit (APRU) blood refrigerator in helicopter EMS… The logistics are challenging because MedEvac helicopters aren’t based at a hospital. A key priority for us is to avoid any waste. These are fully accredited blood bank refrigerators. They are plugged in and powered, and have Bluetooth capability to report any issues…Prehospital blood transfusions can help save lives. We’re proud to be pioneers and for never settling for good when great is within reach.

University Hospital EMS

We began working on this program in 2022 and have spent the last three years ensuring we can safely and effectively provide this service to patients in need…Throughout that time, our partnership with the Delta Development Team has been instrumental. Their responsiveness, innovation, and deep understanding of our mission have made them more than just a vendor — they are a trusted collaborator. We are extremely satisfied with their support and proud of what we’ve accomplished together.
